Computer Management

Course Overview

On successful completion of this professional superior course, a technician in Management Informatics will be able to:
  • Manipulate, edit and analyze information;
  • Act with scientific, technological rigor and with operational and strategic management ability, in topics such as analysis, design, modeling, production, operation and maintenance of computer applications, computer networks in organizations, decision support tools and computer applications for business management;
  • Work properly with the management software that the main companies use, Primavera Software, etc.

Careers

  • Contribute to the design, development, management and permanent updating of the organizations information system;
  • Manage and implement computer tools to support the areas of operational, tactical and strategic management, as well as proceed with the analysis and interpretation of data that supports the decision-making process;
  • Develop applications for the functional areas of the organization, particularly: human resources management, economic, financial and treasury management, stock and supply management, marketing, etc;
  • Plan, design and manage business databases;
  • Develop, install and keep up servers, pages and information systems in Web technologies;
  • Develop, distribute, install and maintain computer applications, using object-oriented environments and programming languages
  • Participate in the design of a secure work environment for business networks;
  • Apply the fundamental principles and techniques of project management;
  • Participate in the design of a work environment that satisfies the legal requirements of hygiene and safety.

Entry Requirements

  • Entities provided with high-school education course or with a legally equivalent qualification;
  • Entities who have passed the specifically appropriate tests, which are designed to assess the ability to attend higher education for those over 23 years old, taken for the course in question, under the terms of Decreto-Lei n.º 64/2006, de 21st of march.
  • Entities provided with a technological specialization diploma, a diploma of professional higher education technician or a higher education degree, who wish to have their professional requalification.
